What AI community members discussed
Codex members shared Blender, Three.js and simulation experiments. A long-running virtual-world build drew interest, but other participants reported mobile load and a cloud-browser startup crash that prevented testing. A builder distinguished strong one-shot 3D generation from the technical skill needed for optimisation. An interior concept was described as a communication aid, not construction-ready output.
Website discussion also separated task completion from visual quality. A participant preferred a different model/tool combination for an e-commerce page after finding another approach aesthetically disappointing. A news-product discussion included actual user feedback: testers liked its presentation but felt encouraged to keep scrolling, challenging the maker's aim of reducing information overload. The maker acknowledged that tension.
Hermes supplied an important correction: a supposed AI-generated street demonstration was challenged as ordinary video. It must not be repeated as a verified AI accomplishment.
Practical implications
Follow a demo into testing: device performance, user behaviour, accuracy and maintenance. A useful case study records where the prototype failed and what changed afterward; an attractive scene is not proof of a working simulation.

Checked on 12 September 2026: Population describes itself as an early alpha for exploring a shared environment, with Marina Bay as its first setting. Its public page explicitly says simulated residents and policy experiments are not implemented yet. These are planned capabilities, not demonstrated outcomes. Page availability does not establish interactive performance, mobile compatibility or the cause of community-reported failures.
